New Inclusive Volunteering Toolkit published

Today, the Make Your Mark in Volunteering campaign has published an Inclusive Volunteering Toolkit. Part of Scotland’s Volunteering Action Plan, the toolkit was created in partnership with the University of Strathclyde, and is supported by the Scottish Government and the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

The Make Your Mark Inclusive Volunteering Toolkit is designed to support voluntary organisations in Scotland to make their volunteering programmes more inclusive. It was informed by focus groups with marginalised people, surveys of voluntary organisations and extensive desk-based research on inclusive volunteering in Scotland.

Drawing on this data, and the existing experience of the Make Your Mark membership in the form of case studies, the toolkit offers practical steps to enhancing inclusion and diversity in the volunteering sector in Scotland.

The Make Your Mark Inclusive Volunteering Toolkit will be officially launched to Scotland’s wider voluntary sector at the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisation’s (SCVO) The Gathering in Edinburgh on Wednesday 8 November.

In 2024, the Make Your Mark team will deliver a series of free workshops to support organisations to use the toolkit – please email hello@makeyourmark.scot to register your interest.
