Edinburgh Zoo volunteer Allyson gives insight into their role and why they love volunteering.
What is your role?
I am a Public Engagement Volunteer at Edinburgh Zoo. The tasks I do vary depending on what is required, but mostly answering questions about the zoo or the animals and helping visitors find what they're looking for.
What led you to start volunteering?
I have a great love of animals and wanted to learn more about them, spend more time with them and help visitors to learn about them.
What attracted you to the heritage and/or conservation sector?
I have a great love of wildlife.
