Joining Make Your Mark gives you access to a peer-to-peer volunteer organisers network.
The Volunteer Organisers Network, formerly known as HVOS (Heritage Volunteer Organisers Scotland), is part of the Make Your Mark Campaign. Our role is to provide peer-to-peer support to anyone who works with volunteers, with a focus on ensuring that volunteers contributing to the heritage sector represent the diversity of Scotland’s population.
We support volunteer organisers by:
- Organising a programme of network events, including short talks about case studies, Q&As and volunteer management training. These events will be online until it is safe to gather in person.
- Curating a regular newsletter with good practice and new ideas of inclusive volunteer management.
- Promoting the Make Your Mark values of Place, Community, Heritage and Inclusivity
Help lead the Volunteer Organisers Network:
The Volunteer Organisers Network working group is made up of representatives from a variety of organisations who bring a wide range of skills and experiences working with volunteers. We are an approachable group with a friendly, hands-on attitude. If you would like to be part of our team, please get in touch via our email. We are particularly keen to hear from people of colour, people with disabilities and young people.
